About Crawley STEMfest

Crawley STEMfest is the biggest and most exciting celebration of Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) in the region. It takes takes place in schools, colleges, STEM Clubs and the community during May and June each year.

It provides students with a unique programme of interactive activities and events designed to inspire them to study and develop careers in STEM.

Crawley STEMfest also provides great opportunities for employers and schools to connect so they can work together to inspire young people.

The festival culminates with the Big Bang Fair South East, an action-packed event for more than 10,000 9-19-year-olds, which provides a unique opportunity for the STEM community to come together and inspire the future workforce. The event also celebrates students’ achievements through the regional heats of the prestigious Big Bang UK Young Scientists and Engineers Competition.

“Gatwick Airport is proud to be headline sponsor of Crawley STEMfest and the Big Bang Fair South East and we were pleased to see such a good turn-out from schools across the region,” says Paula Aldridge, Community Engagement Manager.

“Our objective is to inform the next generation about the wide range of applications of STEM skills at the airport and inspire them to choose STEM subjects – helping us to build a pipeline of talent for the future.”

The University of Brighton through STEM Sussex will be hosting Crawley STEMfest in partnership with Crawley Borough Council and Crawley College.
